Garden State Flower Cooperative
About
The mission of Garden State Flower Cooperative is simple - create a connected community of flower farmers and floral designers. We are proud to work with growers who use sustainable practices - no use of chemical fertilizers, no pesticides or herbicides, and cover cropping - and provide designers with the most diverse and highest quality flowers grown right here in New Jersey.
The benefits of purchasing from our cooperative are that you’re connected with growers all across the state, our flowers and foliage are not being shipped far distances, and our products exhibit superb freshness and long vase life compared to commercial stems.
Our Story
The Garden State Flower Cooperative was sparked in 2018 from a little conversation between co-founders Patti and Colleen. As flower farmers and floral designers themselves, they wondered why there wasn’t an easier way to purchase fresh flowers from local flower farmers versus going through retailers. By 2019 the cooperative was incorporated. Since forming a Board of Directors in 2020, the cooperative has set its eyes on continuing to grow its network of flower farmers and floral designers.

Market Info
Weekly wholesale markets are held every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 8:30-11:00 AM beginning Tuesday, April 8th, 2025 and concluding Thursday, October 30th, 2025.
The market runs for a total of 30 weeks and offers up beautiful, unique, high quality, locally grown flowers.
Our market location is 274 Myrtle Avenue, Units D&E, Boonton, NJ 07005. On market days you’ll come to this location to pick up your pre-order and shop the market floor.

Growers
If you’re a grower (aka flower farmer) then you understand how much time, energy, and effort it takes to plan for your season, farm your fields, create a cut list, estimate product availability, handle marketing and outreach, organize and fill pre-orders, harvest cuts, and then prepare your product for pick up or delivery. The Garden State Flower Cooperative eliminates the time you have to spend marketing, creating a cut list, managing orders, handling in person sales, and distributing orders. It takes care of all of that and provides a sense of community, educational resources, sales reporting, and so much more!

Designers & Buyers
If you’re a floral designer you understand how much time and energy it can take researching different retailers and flower farms that can provide you with fresh, unique, and beautiful flowers and foliage. It’s exhausting to have to reach out to individual growers, get their cut list with prices, compare what you’re getting across a few different places, arrange a purchase, and schedule pick up/delivery. The Garden State Flower Cooperative eliminates the time you spend shopping around. We do the work of finding growers all over New Jersey, setting up one convenient location for you to shop, and developing a seamless way for you to place pre-orders!
